Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) announces that Renne Public Policy Group will begin operating as a separate, stand-alone company, the California Public Policy Group (CPPG). This transition marks a significant milestone for both RPLG and CPPG.
RPPG was established in 2019 as RPLG’s lobbying and political consulting division. Under its new independent structure, CPPG will continue to offer its core services of direct advocacy, grant writing, procurement and operational counsel. At the helm of CPPG is Chief Executive Officer + Founder Dane Hutchings, a seasoned legislative advocate and political strategist with over fifteen years of experience supporting both public and private agencies in California policy and politics.
Over the past five and half years, CPPG has grown from a single contract to a diverse portfolio of long-term clients spanning nearly every region of the state. This move enhances CPPG’s agility and broadens its reach of potential clients while remaining closely aligned with Renne Public Law Group as strategic partners. RPLG will maintain a shared office with CPPG in Sacramento, with plans to expand its legal practice there.
“This shift represents a significant milestone, but the core values of our firm remain unchanged,” said Dane. “Our passion for supporting local government, and our unwavering commitment to excellence and transparency, are as strong as ever. We continue with the same talented team, the same professional approach, and the same philosophy that has guided us thus far.”
Jon Holtzman, Founding Partner of RPLG, added that the firm is very supportive of this move.
“We are very proud to have established an organization that aggressively supports local governments in Sacramento,” said Jon. “We look forward to continuing as strategic partners for many years to come — collaborating on projects where legal and policy issues intersect.”
CPPG and RPLG will co-host a reception at the upcoming League of California Cities Annual Conference & Expo this October.
