Isha Iyer serves as a Legislative Aide for CPPG, where she draws on her strong background in environmental policy and her social science research skillset. She is passionate about working on tangible changes that help communities thrive and is excited to contribute to the California policy process.
As part of her master’s program in environmental policy and management at UC Davis, Isha interned with the California Department of Conservation, worked in environmental consulting, and collaborated with the League of California Cities analyzing the successes and challenges cities face in implementing climate and air quality legislation.
Isha graduated from Ahmedabad University, India, with a bachelor’s in psychology. As an undergraduate, she interned at the Global Centre for Environment and Energy, contributing to research on the impact of heatwaves on women construction workers, and created investigative films exploring environmental justice and water governance issues in local communities. Her passion for these issues led her to pursue a career in the science-policy nexus.
In her free time, Isha is a self-taught singer and guitarist, a devoted pet aunt, and a Substack writer musing on feminism, culture, and sustainability.
